Unhinged

Just received my first international parts from Australia: David Shaw's Logic Surrounds and Large Data Port. Dome work is commencing now that I have these on hand, and the Holoprojectors on order.

JAG hinges also arrived. I have enough to open all the Dome and front body panels. I may get two more to open the back side X-Large doors eventually. It all depends on how the guts turn out.

Cash Back

Two more parts! Coin Returns are here, plus the Dome Motor Bracket. I sort of wish the bracket was blue, but oh well, no one will see it. Several new polls popping up every day for parts run interest. Looks like I may have started at a good time. 

Venting

Center Vents & Surrounds on hand. These are a "some assembly required" part.

Also received a set of Shoulder Hydraulics from James aka "Tobin". These are the second detail pieces I've ordered from him and I've been impressed with the quality both times. I also like that he waits to list parts after he has them on hand, which means you get them quick. Obviously this couldn't be done on some of the larger parts that are more costly. After all, who wants to front several thousand bucks on a part run? Not me!

Hot Plate

My Dome Base Plate has arrived. This part enables you to mount all the gadgets inside Artoo's dome. I plan on eventually having a periscope, lightsaber launcher and possibly a life-form scanner.

Now I can assemble the whole Rockler/Frame/Dome array. Other builders have been taking apart the Rockler to polish the inside and use different grease to make it rotate more easily. Mine is pretty stiff, so I'll go ahead and attempt it.

There's been a sudden surge in part runs this week, maybe due to the site being down for a couple weeks. That list of ordered parts keeps growing longer! Hard to believe its only been about two months since I started.

Cold Shoulder

Double whammy day! Both the Shoulder hubs and PSI Diffusers arrived today. From the looks of things I may be getting a couple more parts in the next few days. The astromech.net site came back online late last week, and several of the parts I have on order are shipping this week.

I ordered a set of NPC Foot Drives from JAG yesterday. These are the drive wheels in the feet that will get Artoo rolling. Several other parts look to be starting runs this week also. Hopefully my tax refund comes in soon!

Went by Lowes on the way home and got a set of countersinks. I was going to get the screws for mounting the Rockler too, but I hadn't written down the needed length. My Dome Base Plate should be here tomorrow or the next day also, so I can get the whole Dome assembly mounted to the frame this weekend.
